Session Reflections
This section is where team-specific observations live. Session plans and drills are written as general coaching resources — this is where they become specific to this team, this group, and this moment.
A reflection is written after a session. It captures what you actually saw, not what the plan expected.
How to Use This Section
After each session:
- Duplicate the Session Reflection Template from
_templates/ - Rename it:
Reflection – [Session Name] – [YYYY-MM-DD] - Save it here in
06 - Sessions/Reflections/ - Fill in what you observed — honestly and specifically
Reflections are the only place in this playbook where it is appropriate to write things like "we struggled with..." or "the group responded really well to..." — because these are notes about a specific session, not general coaching guidance.
Why This Separation Matters
Session plans describe how to run a session. Reflections describe what happened when you did.
Keeping them separate means:
- Plans stay clean and reusable
- Reflections stay honest and specific
- Over time, the reflections build a picture of how the team is developing that no session plan can capture
