A cut directly downfield toward the endzone, typically from a central or isolated position. It is made when the cutter intends to receive the disc in stride or to attack the Power Position Channel.

The strike cut is used when a cutter has created enough separation to threaten the deep space. The timing is critical — the cut should be made when the thrower is ready and looking, so the disc can be delivered into the cutter's stride rather than to a static target.
A strike cut that is made too early or without a reading of the thrower's intent will stall the offence. Used well, it is one of the fastest ways to advance the disc and create a power position.
